next level by trying new skills while honing those skills that they learned
in the Open Water Scuba Course. Come join the staff of Undersea Divers
and let us take you there!
The Course
This course consists of five modules. Two of these modules
are required: Deep Diving and Underwater Navigation.
All students enrolled in PADI
Advanced Open Water Diver course complete the two Core Dives. Core
Dives orient students to the fundamentals of advanced diving. Three
of the five dives are considered electives. You may select dives
from the list below. Most common choices are night diving,
wreck diving, u/w naturalist, peak performance buoyancy, boat dive
or search
and recovery . This class is one of the most fun and challenging
courses offered by PADI!
How do I get started?
You
need to come in to the dive shop and pay for the class and purchase
the AOW diver kit. You will
also get a blue folder with the kit which needs to be filled out prior
to class. The folder contains a medical statement, if you answer yes
to any of the questions you must get the PADI Medical
Statement from the dive shop or download from the link below and get
a doctor to sign it before class.
Please note that if you have to change the date
of the 2 boat dives for any reason there is an additional $75 boat
cancellation fee.
Instruction
Diving
is best learned in the water and not through hours of lecture
in the classroom.
We at Undersea Diving recognize this and have designed this course to
maximize the amount of time in the water. The instructors will
serve as
your guide throughout your course. They will be able to answer questions
and help organize and lead the dives.
After
you pick up you AOW kit you will have to do some self study. You
need to read the 5
chapters in the manual that pertain to the dives you will do.
At the end of each chapter there is a knowledge review which needs
to be completed before class.
You will participate in five adventure
dives (including the Deep and
Underwater
Navigation
Dives),
usually
two
on a Saturday
and
two on Sunday and one during the week after work. (individually tailored
courses are available).

order to enroll you must be 12 years old and already hold either a PADI
