PADI Nitrox Diver Course
Dive safer and longer!
- Safely extend your bottom time and No Decompression Limits
- Increase your safety underwater
- Reduce your risk of Decompression Sickness
- Understand what your buddies are talking about when they start talking about Nitrox
...then the PADI Nitrox Program is for you.
What is Nitrox
This is not a voodoo gas as people once thought.
With nitrox we have simply replaced some of the nitrogen that was in the air we breathed
and replaced it with oxygen. The result is a higher percentage of oxygen and a lower percentage
of nitrogen. This gas is not meant for extremely deep dives, it is actually most effective when
diving in the 50 to 100 foot range. However, as with everything else in life, there are some
trade offs, increased Oxygen levels result in some new considerations. This course will teach
you how to manage these considerations and maximize your safety and bottom time.
The Course
The PADI Nitrox Course is a short (4 1/2hour) yet comprehensive course that will teach
the basics of Nitrox diving. You will learn how to choose the appropriate mix for a specific
planned dive and determine the oxygen exposure limits after a dive using our convenient
simple tables. You will also learn how to analyze our mix to ensure accuracy and safety.
We will answer your questions and dispel the myths about diving with mixed gas. At the end you
will be able to safely extend your bottom time and increase your margin of safety while diving.
