Step 1: Home Study & ClassroomHome Study & Classroom In this first phase you develop an understanding of the basic principles of scuba diving. You will learn things like how pressure affects your body, what type of equipment you need and much more. You begin with home study prior to the start of class. You will read chapters in the PADI manual as well as watching a DVD. Once you are in the classroom you will review the 5 knowledge sections of the PADI manual with your instructor and take a few quizzes to make sure you have all the key concepts and ideas down. The classroom & pool steps are combined in 1 class that is conducted on either 2 weekend days or 4 weeknight days.

You will learn everything from how to set up your gear, to clearing your mask and learning some emergency skills. Pool sessions are held at the Paul Lydon Aquatic Center in Danvers which is located right behind the Liberty Tree Mall. The address is 200 Commonwealth Ave, Danvers.
